  • 1 orange, peeled
  • 1/2 inch (thumbnail sized) piece of ginger, peeled
  • 1 cup pineapple
  • 1 lime, juiced

This immune boosting pineapple orange ginger and lime smoothie is crammed full of vitamin, mineral and fibre goodness, and is particularly good if you’re feeling a bit run down. Part of my collection of healthy smoothies recipes, healthy breakfast, healthy breakfasts and healthy snack ideas recipes that are refined sugar free, low fat, gluten free, diary free, vegan and vegetarian. The bromelain in the pineapple has anti-inflammatory properties that help enhance digestion and ease inflammation. Whilst the ginger helps to clear sinuses and soothes a sensitive stomach – as well as adding a warming kick which is perfect for this time of year. On top of that, pineapples, oranges and limes contain plenty of vitamin C, which helps to boost your immune system.


  1. Place all the ingredients into the blender and process until smooth!
  2. I found I didn’t need to add any liquid as oranges have an especially high water content. But if you would like it a little thinner or even if you just want to stretch it feel free to add some filtered water to achieve the thickness you like.
