Spinach, pear, celery and vanilla smoothie

Ingredients

Two frozen cubes of spinach (about 4cm)

2 sticks of celery, chopped

2 pears, chopped

1/2 tsp vanilla essence

1 cup filtered water

This is my absolute go to smoothie. It’s packed full of flavour, is mostly made up of vegetables and is super simple to whip up.

My greatest smoothie making discovery yet (besides the nutria bullet obviously)…has to be frozen spinach – it really revolutionises your smoothie making experience. So instead of constantly having to buy spinach and watch as it turns into a soggy pile in your fridge, you can have a bag of goodness that is always ready to go in your freezer. Ta da! I also find that pears and celery are very forgiving about sell by dates, which means they are perfect for smoothies. And thanks to the vanilla essence this vegetable heavy smoothie is just as tasty as it’s fruit heavy friends. So there you have it – healthy, tasty and super easy to make. PEAR-fect.

Method

  1. Place all the ingredients into your blender or nuti-bullet and blend until smooth.
